In the Southern region of Birmingham lies a small suburb known as Homewood. To the outside world little is known about this location, which may be because it shares a name with a much more prominent region in Alabama, in the United States. That being said, from what we’ve gleaned of the suburb it’s just about as quiet and tranquil as they come, but although it might be small – it’s still within driving distance of world-famous landmarks such as the Hippodrome Theatre and The Arcadian.

What is there to do here?

If you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life then Homewood may well be the ideal place for your next escape. It’s quiet, so you won’t have to worry too much about being kept up all night by sirens and parties. As its name might suggest there is a local forest nearby, as well as a high street with a couple of retail outlets that cater to the locals.

If you don’t mind travelling for fifteen minutes however, you’ll find Hurst Street to be the real life and soul of the party. Here you will find stores, eateries, branded shops, bars and outdoor street lighting to help you to take full advantage of the nightlife scene. There are also buses that run from the suburb to the busier parts of the town should you need a way to get around (or you could book a cab instead).

Are there any salons here?

In the region of Homewood there are just a couple of facilities that offer beauty services to their clients. Travel out a bit however, and you’ll find plenty more – so many in fact that we have had to narrow down the options as much as possible in order to feature them within our listings! You could always book a trip and see for yourself if you’d prefer.

If you’d like to know what’s available before you travel, then we’d recommend taking a look at our listings to really get to grips with what’s out there. Best case scenario is that you’ll find a lovely little salon in the suburb; worst case is that you might need to travel out for a quarter of an hour. That’s still a win in our books – especially if you find the ideal salon for your needs!

Having followed Lily working for Obsession, Bad Apple and now to her beautiful salon Parlour Hair which is situated in a fabulous building.; with the most awesome decor. The staff are all amazing welcoming and very talented. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend all of the stylists.

My stylist now is Claire who works wonders with my grey locks.

Well deserved to make it into the top ten list.

Thank you Parlour for always making me feel welcome.
